Cheater's Spanakopita

Comments

these look great. and perfectly easy for an equally lazy person, like me :) i'm so excited to make these.
Elly, nothing wrong with a short cut and the most important thing is, they gotta taste good. The filling sounds right and the puff pastry gave you a fine result. Kali Orexi!
Yum! I actually think I could make these. I am so afraid of phyllo dough! Thanks for the recipe!
I never would have thought to use puff pastry. What a great idea. These look delicious!
Cheat or no cheat, I think it looks great.
I can totally see why these would be addictive. Dangerously addictive. I love spinach; don't know if I can resist giving these a try.
Cheating or not, looks delicious. You have a great blog! You've been awarded the You Make My Day Award by http://reservationsnotrequired.blogspot.com
great idea to use the puff pastry instead! i love spanakopita :)

Elly, you make my day too! I guess you can just pass this on for both of us. Thanks for all your ideas!

Thanks for making my day! Check out: http://tinyurl.com/2bvkh6
Spinach, feta cheese and dill are always a winning combination no matter what they are wrapped in.
It sounds great with puff pastry or phyllo dough!
Elly, there's nothing wrong making them with puff pastry.

Beautiful pictures -- very inspiring! I'm not afraid of phyllo (even if I certainly find it pretty hard to work with), and have swapped phyllo for puff pastry -- and vice versa -- for several recipes, but I have always liked the results better, with puff pastry... Less hassle, and better results -- can't beat that.
I love it when a substitute ingredient is used and it reveals surprising and pleasurable results. As always Elly, your pics are so drool-worthy.
That looks so good! And guess what, YOU MAKE MY DAY!

This is a great recipe! I made spanakopita in a pie before because I was too tired and lazy. Spanakopita is hard to resist. Wonderful food porn as usual!
Good grief Elly that looks great! I always thought I would be a BIG cheater if I used puff pastry in a recipe that calls for phyllo! But if YOU did it, I sure can! LOL!

It ain't cheating when the result tastes good, as I can tell these do.

Good Morning Just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. I am "very" new at this whole blogging thing, and despite that fact, I was also one of the winners of the Sucre give away contest sponsored by BlakeMakes. So, I decided to stop by, visit your blog and wish you continued success. Hopefully someday my blog will approach the level of professionalism exhibited here. AND.....yes I need to get a camera......and FAST! Sincerely, Mark

Hi Nicole! Thanks for stopping by! I am always so flattered when someone asks me about my camera because the truth is, it's really old and pretty terrible. LOL. I have a Sony Cybershot with a whopping 3.2 megapixels :)
